Dear ADRIO Members and Dispute Resolution Professionals,
I trust that you are all doing well during this Autumn season!
It has been a busy season buzzing with many excellent activities here at ADRIO which include the 2024 strategic planning sessions, professional development sessions, membership support, and participating in the 50th Annual ADRIC AGM and Conference held here in Toronto on Oct 24th & 25th.
I had the privilege of leading a conference session on “Leveraging Credentials and Designations for Building a Successful Career in Mediation and Arbitration to compliment the plethora of sessions presented at the ADRIC conference. The session focused on the value of professional credentials and designations and how they play a crucial role in establishing credibility, competence, and trust in the fields of mediation and arbitration. Key concepts explored how individuals can strategically utilize their credentials and designations to forge a robust and fulfilling career in mediation and arbitration. From understanding the significance of certifications to navigating career pathways, providing actionable insights and practical techniques, tips, and tools for both aspiring and established professionals. The session was well attended by new and seasoned practitioners ending with a time of networking and sharing ideas of how each can build on their existing careers.
Participants walked away understanding the importance of professional credentials and designations in mediation and arbitration, with strategies for leveraging certifications to enhance career opportunities, guidance on navigating career progression and specialization within the field and how to proactively invest in strategic professional development and credentialing. The session ended with an insightful question and answer period allowing for the new and seasoned practitioners in the room to share their experiences and inspiring next steps.
Now is the perfect time to turn our focus to year-end activities and prepare for a brand-new sparkly year. Let us turn our attention to the following activities:
- Networking opportunities through participating in any or all of the professional development activities coming up. Connecting with peers and industry leaders can open doors to mentorship, collaboration and new job opportunities.
- Goal setting to include the activities you will embark on and achieve for 2025.
- Identify the professional development you will achieve as this commitment to lifelong learning not only enhances your skills but also boosts your confidence.
- Consider applying for a designation or credential to further your career. Pursuing a designation encourages you to stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in your industry.
- Create goals for within your current role or aspire to attain a new role.
- Keep an eye out for your ADRIO membership renewal that will commence in early December 2024. Your ADRIO membership comes with membership benefits that keep on giving!
At ADRIO, our small however, strong team puts forth our best efforts to serve our membership. As we embark on renewal season for December 2024 to March 2025, here are a few things you can do to stay ahead with renewals (membership, designations, and prepare for tax season) that will help our team assist you with renewals.
Stay Ahead with Renewals!
As you navigate your full lives, it’s easy to let important tasks slip through the cracks. Keeping an eye out for renewal notices is a simple yet powerful way to ensure you stay on track—both personally and professionally! Renewal notices will be sent early December.
Here are some tips to help you renew on time:
- Renew when you receive the first notice. This will save you time and you will not receive repeat notices.
- Organize your documents and have your log-in credentials handy. Keep all renewal notices for your memberships and designations and related documents in one place. A designated folder—digital or physical—makes it easy to find what you need when the time comes.
- Create a Renewal Checklist. Jot down all the renewals you need to keep track of, from designations and licenses to memberships. Checking items off a list can be incredibly satisfying!
- Stay Informed. Keep an eye on your email for any updates. If you haven’t received a notice, don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
- Renew Early. If possible, renew well in advance. This not only alleviates last-minute stress but also ensures that you won’t face any lapses in coverage or access.
By taking these proactive steps, you’re not just keeping your affairs in order; you’re also investing in your peace of mind. Celebrate each successful renewal as a small victory on your path to growth and stability. You’ve got this—here’s to staying organized and thriving!
