In order to ensure and encourage enhanced professionalism and adherence to best practices, ADRIO™ requires that all new members take the online course: Practical Ethics for Working Mediators before or within the first three months of new membership. Membership Categories

Full Member: Full Membership is open to any person practicing in the area of arbitration, mediation or other forms of alternate dispute resolution who is of good character and reputation, and can satisfy the Membership Committee that he or she has obtained and maintained standards of academic achievement (have successfully completed an Institute-approved 40-hour course in arbitration or mediation or have equivalent expertise arising from experience in the area of alternate dispute resolution in Canada) and professional experience consistent with the aims and objectives of the ADR Institute of Ontario. Completion of the online course: Practical Ethics for Working Mediators is a condition of membership. Once you have satisfied all conditions for membership, your application will be approved and your membership will be activated.
Annual Fee: $360 plus HST. Plus one-time fee of $90+HST for Ethics Course. (This fee includes full membership with Ontario, as well as with the ADR Institute of Canada (ADRIC) i.e., two memberships in one. 

Associate: Open to all persons of good character and reputation interested in the field but have no training in the area of alternate dispute resolution, or those who have training but are not practicing in the field. Completion of the online course: Practical Ethics for Working Mediators is a condition of membership. Once you have satisfied all conditions for membership, your application will be approved and your membership will be activated.
Annual Fee: $150 plus HST. Plus one-time fee of $90+HST for Ethics Course.

Student: Open to persons of good character and reputation who are enrolled in full-time studies (i.e., Ph.D., B.A., LL.B.). Please note: Student Membership is not available to those involved in part-time studies. Completion of the online course: Practical Ethics for Working Mediators is a condition of membership. Once you have satisfied all conditions for membership, your application will be approved and your membership will be activated.
Annual Fee: $75 plus HST. Plus one-time fee of $50+HST for Ethics Course.

You must submit application with electronic payment. Your application will not be considered without payment. If your application is not accepted, your payment will be refunded in the same form originally used.


Your application will be reviewed and you will be informed of your membership status as soon as possible.

The information in this application will be used for the sole purpose of assessing your qualifications for membership.

If accepted as a member, your “basic information”, will be listed on our web site and your e-mail address will be used to send you information including our Member Bulletin newsletter, ADR Update Newsletter, event notices and other important information. Once accepted, you will be able to manage your communication preferences via your Member Portal.

The membership year is January 1st to December 31st.
