To kick off Aspiring ADR Practitioners Week, we will be hosting our fifth Mediator Mentor session as a lunch and learn! ADRIO Board Director and bilingual mediator and litigator, Natai Shelsen, LLB, BCL, Q.Med, will lead an interactive and educational discussion on overcoming impasse in mediation. What are the factors that lead to impasse in mediation? What strategies can mediators use to avoid impasse? Should we consider different strategies for online mediations? There will be roleplay opportunities and breakout activities! Register here. (Students can attend this event for free! Email email@example.com for more details.)

Wednesday, August 26 and Thursday, August 27
Two days of ADR mentoring and networking! We understand that the ADR field is evolving, expanding, and becoming increasingly competitive. To succeed in this profession, new and seasoned practitioners alike have underscored the need for more mentoring and networking opportunities. We received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback from those who attended our speed mentoring event last year, so we are bringing it back for two days in an online format! This evening networking program will provide participants with a unique opportunity to learn and network in a focused and small group setting. Come prepared to ask questions about professional growth, career development, practice management, strategies to improve professional visibility as well as ADRIO membership and much more. Participants will be given the opportunity to meet and talk with each of the 6 mentors in Zoom breakout rooms. Space is limited. Register here.
Friday, August 28
To wrap up the week, we will premiere ADRIO at the Table with: Aspiring Practitioners, a podcast project, championed by a group of aspiring ADR practitioners in collaboration with ADRIO staff. The primary vision for this project is to amplify diverse voices in the ADR community in Ontario. The first couple of episodes will unpack matters related to the ADR student journey, representation, the power and implications of discomfort, bravery, and self-worth. On this day, the podcast link will be emailed directly to ADRIO members. Stay tuned!
ADRIO’s Aspiring ADR Practitioners Week provides a special opportunity for students, new practitioners and mentors to come together to share their insights about the ADR field. Follow us throughout the week and don’t forget to participate to show your support!
