This post is based on contribution from Christopher Baines, C.Med., ADRIO Board Director
Learn the industry – You can learn so much more about how the ADR industry works and this knowledge will help you grow in our profession.
Express yourself – Passionate about ADR and believe in the potential for the industry to be expanded? Think mandatory mediation ought to be expanded throughout Ontario and OMMP fees should be updated? Serve on the ADRIO Board and work on advocacy to our provincial government.
Learn new skills – The ADRIO staff and Board have “the sharpest knives in the drawer” of our industry and you can learn new skills, such as how to successfully lobby bureaucrats and politicians. We need people with a variety of skills around the Board table, e.g. sales people, policy wonks, proposal writers, marketing people etc. Your skills can help us “move the dial” in the right direction.
Represent your community – Don’t see your community currently represented around the ADRIO Board table? Then run yourself and see your community represented. It is good for your community, good for ADR, and good for getting yourself known in the broader ADR community.
Have fun! – Board members are active, passionate, skilled and fun to be with! Be at the table to enjoy the comradery in the common cause of building the ADR industry in communities throughout our province.
So get excited, get active and get moving! See details for nomination process here.
